Driving directions:

From the centre of Karachi, take national route N5 (Shahrah-e-Faisal), then turn left onto Airport Road. The airport is well signposted. The total drive time to the airport from Karachi is approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public transport road:

Bus:Regular bus services link the airport with the city; the journey time is around 50 minutes, and the fare is Rs50.

Taxi:A number of taxi companies operate from outside the terminal building, including Metro Radio Cab (tel: +92 111 222 787; www.metrocab.com.pk). The journey time to the city is around 40 minutes depending on traffic, and the fare starts from Rs300.

Money:

A number of banks, bureaux de change and ATMs are located in the terminal building.

Food:

Restaurants are available in the main terminal building, catering to both local and international tastes. There are also cafés and snack bars in the departure satellite areas.

Shopping:

Karachi Jinnah International Airport offers a range of shopping options. Among these are gift shops selling local products such as rugs and other gifts, as well as goods of Western origin. Duty-free shopping is also available.

Luggage:

There are left-luggage facilities within the terminal for those wishing to store luggage. Free trolleys and dedicated porter services (Rs100 for domestic passengers and Rs200 for international passengers) are available. A dedicated lost and found service (tel: +92 91 921 1525) is in operation at the airport.

Other:

There are prayer rooms at various locations in the terminal, while a mosque is located outside the terminal, adjacent to the car parks.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

There is a VIP lounge open to premium passengers and certain credit and club card holders. Meeting and conference rooms can be found at the nearby Ramada Plaza Karachi Airport Hotel (tel: +92 21 9924 2600; www.ramada.com).

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available in the lounges of Karachi Jinnah International Airport. There is a public call office in Hall 1, which also offers fax facilities. Telephone and fax services are also available in the departure lounge.

Disabled facilities:

Assistance for disabled passengers is available on request from the airline prior to departure. Wheelchairs and wheelchair assistance can be found from desks in the arrival and departure areas of the terminal. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.

Car parking:

Short-term parking is located immediately opposite the terminal building, while long-term parking is located a little further from the main complex, but remains within easy walking distance.

Car rental:

A number of private-hire taxi firms provide longer-term vehicle rental, with a driver included. Avis is also represented at the airport and offers self-drive vehicles, but it is generally advisable for foreign visitors to opt for a car with a driver owing to the poor road conditions and lack of driving regulations.
