Airport news:

It was recently announced that due to the current facility's restricted size, there are plans to construct a new replacement airport to serve the city. No definitive timescale is as yet available.

Information:

There are information centres on the ground floor of the Domestic Terminal and the first and second floors of the International Terminal. In addition, touch screen information stands are located on the first floor of each terminal.

For visitors wishing to book accommodation, there is a hotel information and bookings desk on the ground floor of the International Terminal; while a tourist information office can be found close to the entrance of the Domestic Terminal.

Driving directions:

Busan Gimhae International Airport is directly linked to major routes, with the Gyeongbu Expressway (Route 1) leading to the airport from the north and the Namhae Expressway (Route 6) connecting from the west. The airport is situated off the Dongseo elevated road and is clearly signposted.

Transfer between terminals:

Regular free airport shuttle buses transfer passengers between the International and Domestic terminals.

Public Transport

Public transport road:

Bus: There are frequent public buses linking to various destinations in and around Busan (journey time: 30-60 minutes). Bus number 9 leaves directly from the airport terminal to West Busan.

Express buses serve Ulsan, Masan, Gyeognju, Pohang, Yangsan and Jinhae.

Shuttle:Ujin Airport Bus ‘limousine bus’ services run to a number of destinations, including Haeundae and Busan Stations via major hotels.

Taxi:Luxury and standard taxis are readily available from ranks outside the terminals. The fare into the city starts from KRW30,000, and the journey time is roughly 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Public transport rail:

Light rail:Busan Metro’s (tel: +82 55 310 9800; www.humetro.busan.kr) light rail line (which connects to the Metro's Line 2) links the airport to the city centre (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: KRW1,500).

Terminal facilities

Money:

There are banks in both terminals and bureau de change services in the International Terminal. ATMs are also available.

Food:

There are places to eat on every floor of the International Terminal. The Domestic Terminal offers snack bars on the first and second floors, as well as an eatery on the third floor. An additional restaurant is located next to the Domestic Terminal, near the entrance.

Shopping:

Shops at Busan Gimhae International Airport include bookshops, pharmacies, gift retailers and outlets selling local goods. A department store and duty-free shopping area can be found in the International Terminal, after security.

Luggage:

Lost property is handled by the Airport Police (tel: +82 51 974 3776), on the first floors of both the Domestic and International Terminals. There are baggage storage offices on the second floor of the International Terminal and on the first floor of the Domestic Terminal; charges vary depending on the size of luggage.

Other:

Other facilities at Busan Gimhae International Airport include travel agencies, baby changing rooms, a medical centre and shoeshine services.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

A business centre is located on the first floor of the International Terminal; facilities include meeting rooms, telephones, fax machines and computers – there is also an airline lounge on the same level. Further meeting facilities are available at many Busan hotels, including the nearby Hotel Paragon (tel: +82 51 328 2001; www.hotelparagon.com).

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available within certain areas of Busan Gimhae International Airport. Additionally, telephones and internet booths are located throughout the terminals. A post office can be found on the ground floor of the International Terminal.

Disabled facilities:

There are sufficient facilities for disabled travellers at the airport. Lifts connect all floors, wheelchair assistance is provided to passengers arriving and departing the airport, and accessible toilets are located throughout the terminals. Braille maps are provided on the first floor of both terminals for visually-impaired travellers. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should also inform their airline prior to travel.

Parking is accessible to disabled travellers, with reserved spaces in front of the terminals; there is a 50% discount for disabled drivers displaying a valid badge. Braille blocks between the terminals and car parks provide guidance for the visually impaired.

Car parking:

There is parking for over 2,500 vehicles at Busan Gimhae International Airport, with car parks in front of each terminal offering long- and short-term options. Additionally, there is a long-term car park offering monthly rates nearby.

Car rental:

Car hire companies represented at Busan Gimhae International Airport include: Avis, Jeju Car Rental, Sambo and Hertz. Information and reservation desks are located in both terminals.
