Airport news:
In July 2015 a grand US$4 billion reconstruction plan was announced that will see the aging airport be completely demolished and rebuilt, being replaced by one modern unified terminal. Additionally a new hotel and more retail space will be added. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2016 and will run until 2021. The project will be completed in phases, meaning the airport will still be operational throughout the project.

Information desks (tel: +1 718 533 3400) can be found at various points throughout Terminal B. Smaller information desks and boards are located in all terminal buildings. Staff are also on hand to provide assistance to travellers.

New York LaGuardia Airport is located just off the Grand Central Parkway. From north Manhattan (Harlem), take the eastbound Robert F. Kennedy toll road and join the southbound Interstate 278 before merging onto the eastbound Grand Central Parkway. From south Manhattan, head east along the Queens-Midtown Tunnel and then the eastbound Interstate 495. Turn off onto the northbound Interstate 278, and then head west along Grand Central Parkway. From central Queens, follow the westbound Grand Central Parkway to the airport.
Transfer between terminals:
A free shuttle bus service links the four terminals. A walkway connects Terminals C and D. It takes about 5 minutes to walk between the two.

Public transport road:
Bus:The local MTA (tel: +1 888 465 1169; www.mta.info) M60 service connects LaGuardia with Manhattan (journey time: 105 minutes; fare: US$2.75) and the subway lines, while the Q48 serves Flushing and the Q72 serves Corona and Rego Park. Fares are paid before boarding, using the electronic machines at each stop.
Shuttle:Shuttle buses run from New York LaGuardia Airport to all areas of New York City. The NYC Airporter (tel: +1 718 777 5111; www.NYCAirporter.com) departs every 30 minutes for Grand Central and Penn Stations, and the Central Bus Terminal (journey time: 90 minutes; fare: US$13). A number of shared-ride companies run door-to-door services on demand. Information on the various options is available at the Welcome Centre in the arrivals area of each terminal.
Taxi:Official taxis (tel: +1 800 247 7433) are readily available in front of all terminals. The metered fare to Manhattan is around US$25-40. The journey time varies according to time of day, but is generally around 20 minutes.

Money:
ATMs are located in all terminals. Bureaux de change services can be found in Terminal B (Central Terminal).
Food:
There is a good selection of restaurants, bars and fast-food outlets in Terminals B, C and D, while there is a bar in the departures area of Terminal A. Terminal B has the largest choice, with options spread between the food court in the public area and the various boarding gate areas in Departures.
Shopping:
Duty-free shops are located in Terminal B. Other shops, such as fashion boutiques, bookshops and gift retailers, are located in Terminals B, C and D, while newsagents can be found in all terminals.
Luggage:
There are no left-luggage facilities at New York LaGuardia Airport. A lost property service (tel: +1 718 662 5043) is available within the terminals. Luggage trolleys are located within the terminals at numerous points.
Other:
Other available facilities at New York LaGuardia Airport include medical and dental services in Terminal B, a small spa in Terminal C, shoeshine services in Terminals B and D, and baby changing facilities located throughout the airport.

Conference and business:
There are currently no business or conference facilities available at New York LaGuardia Airport. However, these facilities are available at the very nearby Courtyard New York LaGuardia Airport (tel: +1 718 446 4800; www.marriott.com), located opposite the main terminal complex.
Communication Facilities:
Free Wi-Fi internet access (for up to 30 minutes) is available throughout New York LaGuardia Airport.
Disabled facilities:
The airport is fully accessible to disabled travellers and is equipped with ramps, lifts, wheelchair-accessible toilets and TDD telephones. All car parks have dedicated disabled spaces, and wheelchair-accessible buses operate between these areas and the terminals. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline before travelling.
Car parking:
The 7,500 public car parking spaces at New York LaGuardia Airport are linked to the terminals by regular, free shuttle buses. Short-term and daily parking is available in the P1, P2, P4, P5, P6 and P7 car parks. Long-term parking is provided in the P3 car park (although there are limited spaces here). Additional long-term car parking is located in private off-airport sites, which are very close to the airport and can be accessed by following the 'P' signs at the airport exit.
