Alderney Food and Drink

Cuisine in Alderney is largely French influenced, seafood is in abundance and the local speciality is shellfish. Restaurants also offer traditional British and international cuisine. A wide variety of alcoholic beverages is available, and spirits, beers and wines are cheaper than on the mainland.

Tipping

In hotels, a service charge of 10 to 12% is usual, which may be added to the bill. About 10 to 15% is usual for restaurants; if this has already been added to the bill, a further tip is not required.
