Driving directions:

Access to Gran Canaria Airport from Las Palmas and destinations on the east coast is via the island's main north-south GC-1 motorway.

From central Las Palmas, head south on the coast-hugging GC-1, which leads all the way down to the airport – exit at junction 16 for the main terminal. The total drive time from Las Palmas to the airport is approximately 20 minutes.

Transfer between terminals:

Zones A, B and C are in the same building and are within a short walking distance of each other.

Public transport road:

Bus:Hotel transfers are generally included in package holiday deals, but there are frequent bus services operated by Global (tel: +34 928 252 630; www.globalsu.es) between Gran Canaria Airport and Las Palmas (journey time: 30 minutes; fare: from €2.30), as well as numerous other destinations on the island. Bus 60 links to Las Palmas' Parque de San Catalina and Parque de San Telmo; bus 66 runs to Faro de Maspalomas via Playa del Inglés; while route 5 connects Gran Canaria Airport to the main beach resorts of the south. Bus services depart from outside the arrivals areas of Zones A and C.

Taxi:Taxis (tel: +34 928 574 556; www.socomtaxi.com) are available from stands outside the arrivals areas of all three zones. The fare to Las Palmas is around €30.

Money:

There are several ATMs available on the first floor of the airport located in both the boarding and departures area, with an additional ATM found in the Arrivals Hall on the ground floor. Bureaux de change services are situated on both the ground and first floor, located in the arrivals and boarding areas respectively.

Food:

Within the airport, there are coffee shops, bars and fast-food stands in both Arrivals and Departures. Among them, a 24-hour deli is located in Zone A (before security).

Shopping:

The many shops at Gran Canaria Airport include duty-free outlets (available to all international passengers), gift and fashion retailers, a florist, a jewellery boutique and a shop selling local delicacies.

Luggage:

The airport’s lost property office (tel: +34 928 579 130), on-hand to assist with missing luggage queries, is located on the second floor Departures area.

Other:

Other facilities available at Gran Canaria Airport include a 24-hour medical service (tel: +34 928 579 123), located in the baggage claim area of Zone A, a pharmacy, baby changing rooms, a children’s play area, a chapel and several travel agencies and tour operators.

Airport facilities

Conference and business:

A conference room (tel: +34 928 579 005) with capacity for up to 74 delegates is located in the corridor connecting the international and the EU check-in halls. The Sala Galdós VIP lounge (tel: +34 928 579 094) is situated in the terrace on the second floor, above the EU departures lounge.

Additionally, extensive conference facilities and a business centre are available at the Elba Vecindario Aeropuerto Hotel (tel: +34 928 724 300; www.hoteleselba.com), a short distance south of Gran Canaria Airport.

Communication Facilities:

Free Wi-Fi internet access (for up to 30 minutes) is available throughout Gran Canaria Airport. Additionally, an internet café is also available, after the security screening point on the first floor of Zone A. A post office is located in the Zone B departures hall.

Disabled facilities:

There are lifts and ramps in the terminal for disabled access. Disabled parking spaces are provided on each level of the car park. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline at least 48 hours prior to travel.

Car parking:

Short- and long-term parking is available in front of the terminal building in a car park with over 1,500 parking spaces. Payment is via automatic machines that accept Euro notes and coins, and credit/debit cards.

Car rental:

Car hire companies present at Gran Canaria Airport include: Avis, Cicar, Europcar, Goldcar, Hertz and Top Car Auto Reisen. Desks can be found in Zone A (the walkway connecting International and EU Arrivals) on the ground floor.
