Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate consisting of mild winters and long hot summers.
Spring (March to May) is lovely thanks to temperatures that range between 15C and 18C. As Lisbon is by the coast, mist and rain can make it feel cooler so it’s best to bring layers.
Summer (June to August) in Lisbon is hot and dry and temperatures rise to an average of 28C. This is a great time to escape to Lisbon’s beaches. June is also street party season in Lisbon, so expect to pay more for accommodation when the city gets busy during the Festivals of the Saints.
Autumn (September to November) is pleasant and temperatures can reach 20C. You can still hit the beaches in September, but expect rainfall in October and November so pack a raincoat or an umbrella.
Winter (December to February) sees temperatures hovering around 15C during the day and dropping to 8C at night. This mild but unpredictable season is also the wettest of the year.
