Jerusalem has a subtropical semi-arid climate characterised by cool, rainy winters and warm, dry summers.
Spring (March-May) is rainy yet mild. Almond trees blossom pink and pilgrims flock to holy sites to celebrate Easter and Passover.
Summer (June-September) draws the highest numbers of visitors for the weather is hot and there are lots of festivals and national holidays to enjoy.
Autumn (October-November) is another great time for wandering the city among thin crowds and pleasant weather.
Winter (December-February) can get cold and wet, although snow is rare. Early winter is an affordable time to visit but prices go up around religious events such as Christmas.
