Samui Airport is a privately-owned international airport in Thailand operated by Bangkok Airways. It serves the island of Ko Samui, famous for its luxury beach resorts, dense rainforest and coconut groves. The small six-gate airport is located 2km north of Chaweng, the island’s largest town. Although the roads are unnamed, you can easily reach the airport by driving north from Chaweng and following the airport sign. The journey time is around 10 minutes.
Transfer between terminals:
Samui Airport consists of two open-sided terminals within 50-metre (0.03 miles) walking distance from each other. The domestic terminal serves numerous destinations in Thailand while the international terminal operates flights mainly to and from Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and a handful of cities in China.

Public Transport
Public transport road:
Bus: An official shared minibus service operated by Samui Accom Company connects the airport with the island’s resorts. Fares to Chaweng are around 130 Baht per person. The bus leaves every 10 to 30 minutes depending on the number of passengers. Tickets can be bought from a transport counter in the arrivals hall or booked online.
Taxi: Samui Accom also operates private taxis and minibuses. These can also be booked at the transport counter in the arrivals hall or online. Private taxi fares to Chaweng are around 500 Baht, while private minibus fares are around 800 Baht.
Terminal facilities
Money:
Currency exchange facilities are found in the departures area as well as the arrivals hall. ATMs are also available at the arrivals hall.
Food:
There is a small number of cafes and restaurants offering local and international food, there is also an open-air bar onsite.
Shopping:
You can find boutiques, souvenir shops, a bookshop, a health store and a spa at the airport. Duty-free shopping is available between Gates 5 and 6.
Luggage:
There is no left-luggage facility at the airport. A lost baggage centre is located inside the domestic terminal by Gate 4.
Other:
A Muslim prayer room can be found at the main gate. There is also a first-aid station north of the arrivals hall where medical staff is available between 0800 and 1700 hours.

Conference and business:
There are two Blue Ribbon Lounges at the airport offering basic business facilities.
Communication Facilities:
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available at the airport as well as in the VIP lounges. Mobile network operators also sell SIM cards to travellers. There is also a post office.
Disabled facilities:
The airport is wheelchair accessible. There is a wheelchair service available at the check-in area. An electric golf cart runs between various gates for passengers with reduced mobility. Contact the airport service (tel: +66 77 428 500) or your airline for specific assistance.
Car parking:
A large car park is found directly outside arrivals. Parking is free for up to 30 minutes and charges apply after that.
