Carnival
Seven weeks before Easter, Málaga kicks start the carnival with a series of colourful parades. On the last day, the climax is the burial of the anchovy, which involves a funeral procession with mourners taking the anchovy to the seafront where a huge bonfire will soon consume it.

Semana Santa (Holy Week)
During the last week of Lent, large-scale religious processions take place across Málaga; each has floats featuring Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and other saints.

Feria de Málaga (Málaga Fair)
Feria de Málaga is divided into the Day Fair and the Night Fair. The Day Fair, taking place in the city centre, features concerts and a wide range of entertainment. The Night Fair, taking place in Cortijo de Torres, has many rides. Must-dos for tourists include attending a panda de verdiales (typical Malaga music and dance) in Calle de Larios and drinking cartojal (cold, sweet wine).
